DAVID
DEAN BOTTRELL has worked as a
performer, playwright, screenwriter and filmmaker. In addition
to writing projects for such studios as MTV Films, Paramount Pictures
and
Disney Feature Animation, he co-wrote the script for Fox Searchlight’s
hit
comedy
Kingdom Come. His independent movie
Available
Men (which
he wrote and directed) screened in over 130 film festivals and won 17
“Best
Short Film” awards.
He
helped found the Outfest Screenwriting Lab (a mentoring
program for young writers) and periodically teaches audition workshops
for
actors via the SAG Conservatory and AFTRA’s continuing education
program. He
began his career as a performer and playwright working at such
Off-Broadway
theatres as The Second Stage, The Public Theatre, and The Manhattan
Punch Line
as well as The Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven and The Actors Theatre
of
Louisville.
At the
Colony he played the role John Hay in
Wayne Liebman’s historical drama Better Angels
and directed Graham Greene's Travels with
my Aunt.
He
was an original cast member of both the L.A. and New York companies of Streep
Tease, the long running hit comedy revue in which he
performed his
acclaimed six-minute rendition of the entire plot of Out of
Africa. He
is probably best known for his recurring role as the wonderfully
psychotic
Lincoln Meyer on season three of Boston Legal.
Recent
TV credits include
guest starring roles on such shows as Criminal Minds,
iCarly, Days
of Our Lives, Castle, and Harry’s
Law. He produces video and
theatre projects via his production company, Quitcher-Bitchyn
Entertainment.
