Former Colony Theatre member Charmaine Budaska received an M.F.A. in acting and directing at the University of Arizona, then toured with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and performed in regional theatre and summer stock across the Mid-west before settling permanently in Los Angeles.

After a six-year directing hiatus, Charmaine directed Late Night Follies, an evening of sketch comedy, for The Colony this summer. Other directing credits include productions of The Cave Dwellers, The Flight of the Waco, and The Lady of Larkspur Lotion.

She has taught acting to children and adults at the University of Arizona, The Arizona Theatre Company, and the Megaw Acting Studio with Elaine Moe and Sydney Morrison, formerly of the Megaw Theatre in Los Angeles. Favorite stage roles include Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Joanna in Noel Coward's Present Laughter, and Fiona in How the Other Half Loves.

Colony audiences will remember Charmaine as Molly Malloy in The Front Page, Gay Wellington in You Can't Take It With You, Bea Hastings in Modigliani, Flo Owens in Picnic and as one of the ladies in The Odd Couple (Female Version)), after a stint as assistant director of Shaw's Heartbreak House.
