Robert Factor made his deput with the Colony in 1990 in Mister Roberts. Other Colony productions include Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, The Last Metro, The Lion in Winter, The Front Page, Are You Lonesome Tonight? (which he co-wrote), Short Tracks, My Own Shuttlecock, Are You Lonesome Tonight?, The Odd Couple (Female Version)and Layin' the Boogie Woogie.

Other theatre credits include It's Only a PlayDracula Tyrannus, The Chicago Conspiracy Trial, The Disposal (directed by his mentor, the late Gabe Dell), Kennedy's Children, The Birthday Party, and Tooth of Crime among others. He's done 69 plays, total.

He had starring roles in the features Fear (with Cliff DeYoung and Kay Lenz) and Ninja Academy. TV credits include recurring sketches on Tonight Show with Jay Leno, LA Heat, 413 Hope Street, Family Album, Drexall's Class, Gabriel's Fire, Falcon Crest, Hopoerman, Lou Grant, The New Adam 12, Beauty and the Beast, and LA Law among others, He also did several soaps and was a Might Carson Art Player on the Tonight Show with Johny Carson.

Robert studied with Stella Adler, Harold Clurman, Corey Allen, Gabe Dell, Lurene Tuttle, and Gordon Hunt.

He has written the screenplay based on his play Are You Lonesome Tonight? in which he will play the lead character. He wrote two more one-act plays and is working on a third.
