His work has been seen on both coasts, from New York City, where he received his MFA in Scenic Design from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, to Alaska, where he designed for Juneau’s Civic Light Opera. In Los Angeles, Stephen continues a close relationship with International City Theatre, where he received a 2011 Ovation Award nomination for The Clean House, and The Road Theatre Company, where he received his first LA Weekly Award for Lady.
His designs for West Coast Ensemble, The Actor’s Co-op, and A Noise Within have also won him critical recognition. Some of Stephen’s recent designs include The Color Purple for the Celebration Theatre and Spring Awakening for Over the Moon Productions.
