Chip Heller


Chip HellerChip Heller appeared at The Colony in Theatre L.A. Ovation Awards’ Best Play of 2002, The Laramie Project, playing Matthew Shepard’s father, Dennis, among other roles. The Laramie Project also garnered Ovations for Best Director and Best Ensemble Cast, as well as a Garland Award for Best Ensemble Cast and an L.A. Drama Critics Circle nomination for Best Ensemble Cast.  Last summer, the show was remounted at The Laguna Playhouse. Also at The Colony: Brother Olf in Incorruptible, Bradley in The Cocktail Hour, Sir Robert Chiltern in An Ideal Husband, Oby in Holy Ghosts, s the disembodied Book Voice in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Drawer Boy, and The Ladies of the Camellias.

Elsewhere in Southern California: Orpheus Descending at The Old Globe, Shivaree, Two for the Seesaw, The Miss Firecracker Contents and Much Ado About Nothing at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills, Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest at The Tiffany, Richard III, Troilus and Cressida and The Jew of Malta at The Globe Playhouse in West Hollywood. 

Television: recurring roles on both General Hospital and The Bold and the Beautiful, Star Trek, The Next Generation, Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, the Miniseries, White Dwarf, Chicago Hope, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, That 70s Show, Malcolm in the MIddle, JAG, and Becker.

Film: the mega-hit Beverly Hills Cop, the mega-flop Rhinestone, William Friedkin’s Rampage, John Carpenter’s Memoirs of an Invisible Man, the low budget comedy/horror flicks Jack Frost—I and II, and Baby Geniuses—Roger Ebert’s Worst Movie of the Year for 1999!
