Richard Lineback joined the cast of The Colony's third show, The Grass Harp, in 1975, and has been seen in numerous productions since then, including The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Look Homeward Angel (as Eugene Gant), The White Liars, The Martian Chronicles, A Company of Wayward Saints, The Grapes of Wrath (as Tom Joad), Sunfire Man, Getting Out, The Curious Savage, Watch on the Rhine, The Diviners (Drama-Logue Award), The Last Chance Cafe, Bearcat, A Circle on the Cross, Execution of Justice (as Dan White), Holy Ghosts, Generations, and Mister Roberts (in the title role).

Richard was also seen in the world premiere of Baby Dance, co-starring with Linda Purl and Stephanie Zimbalist, at The Pasadena Playhouse, later reprising the role at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, and the Showtime movie.

His numerous television credits include Star Trek: The Next Generation, MacGyver, Hunter, M.A.S.H., Lou Grant, and China Beach, as well as the TV movies War and Remembrance, Inherit the Wind, Vietnam War Stories, Return to Mayberry, Johnny Belinda, Fatal Vision, Gideon's Trumpet, and Blind Vengeance.

Lately, Richard has devoted most of his time to the big screen, being seen in such feature films as Speed (as the police assistant), Natural Born Killers (as the first redneck to be blown away by the title characters), Twister (as the first farmer to be blown away by the title character), and the upcoming The Jackal, with Sidney Poitier, Richard Gere, and Bruce Willlis.
