Dwight Richard Odle

Dwight Richard Odle (Costume Design, Gunmetal Blues) is in his ninth season as resident scenic and costume designer for the Laguna Playhouse. Recent dual assignments there include Rounding Third, The Shape of Things, American Buffalo, Kevin's Bed (American premiere), Moon for the Misbegotten, and Old Wicked Songs. Latest scenic credits include Mr. Shaw Goes to Hollywood, Lovers at Versailles, Stella By Starlight, and Moving On (all American premieres). He has costumed over 60 other Laguna Playhouse productions, most recently The Secret Order, The Wizard of Oz, The Spitfire Grill, and Far East. His costumes for The Last Session and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change were also seen in their Los Angeles runs.

Over 20 seasons with South Coast Repertory, he designed some 90 productions and continues to costume its annual A Christmas Carol.

Southern California credits include McCoy-Rigby Entertainment, Fullerton Civic Light Opera, Ballet Pacifica, the Orange County Performing Arts Center, as well as Universal Studios, Disney Theatricals, SeaWorld and both the Geffen and Pasadena Playhouses.

Internationally, he has designed for two World's Fairs and theme parks in Seoul and Barcelona. For six seasons, he designed for Robert Redford's Sundance Theatre in Utah.

He also served as art director for Pope John Paul's 1987 mass in Dodger Stadium. A Professor of Theatre at UC Irvine, CalState Fullerton and Stanford University, Richard has been honored for a Lifetime Achievement in Scenic Design by the Los Angeles Drama Critics' Circle.
