Theatre and Studio

The 268-seat Colony Theatre is available for rent for concerts, benefits, parties, performances, music and dance recitals, corporate and business meetings, film premieres, civic gatherings, photography shoots, and commercial, television and film shoots. We also have a rehearsal studio available for rent.

While the theatre and rehearsal studio are often booked months in advance, we would be happy to discuss availability with you.

The Colony Theatre is located in the heart of Downtown Burbank in an ideal location, with close proximity to the Burbank Town Center and San Fernando Boulevard shopping district, with a wide array of restaurants, bars, coffee houses, bookstores, movie theatres, and retail stores. Ample free parking is available in the public parking garage adjacent to the theatre.

Theatre site visits are by appointment only.

Weekly Daytime (Mon-Fri 10am-6pm) Weekend (Sat-Sun) and Evening (6pm-11pm)
BASE RENTAL RATES: THEATRE
For-Profit Events $100 per hour; 4 hour minimum $150 per hour; 4 hour minimum
Non-Profit Events (10% Discount) $90 per hour; 4 hour minimum $135 per hour; 4 hour minimum
Burbank Based Non-Profit Events (20% Discount) $80 per hour; 4 hour minimum $120 per hour; 4 hour minimum
Audition, Rehearsal or Meeting For-Profit $65 per hour $100 per hour; 2 hour minimum
Audition, Rehearsal or Meeting Non-profit $50 per hour $75 per hour; 2 hour minimum
BASE RENTAL RATES: STUDIO
Audition, Rehearsal or Meeting For-Profit $40 per hour $75 per hour; 4 hour minimum
Audition, Rehearsal or Meeting Non-Profit $30 per hour $50 per hour; 4 hour minimum

RATES: ALL RATES ARE BASED ON AVAILABILITY

  • Daytime rates are billed as weekdays 10am - 6pm
  • Evening Rates are billed as 6pm - 11pm
  • Weekends are billed as Saturday and Sunday 10am - 11pm
  • Past 11pm are billed at double the evening/weekend rate.
  • If a Friday event is complete by 6pm, the day rate applies, if the event goes past 9pm, the evening rate applies only if the event begins on or after 2pm.
  • Non profit rates require submission and approval of a valid IRS 501 c3 determination letter BEFORE a date is held.
  • Additional charges may apply for film shoots using excessive electricity.

SERVICES

  1. Rentals may require additional staff as determined by The Colony Theatre. Each additional staff member is billed at $40 per hour.
  2. Theatre Rental rates include use of House and Work lights ONLY. Use of Theatrical Lighting and Sound System is available at an additional charge. Studio Rental rates include use of room lights only. Use of Theatrical Lighting and Sound System is NOT available for Studio Rentals.
  3. A Piano is available at an extra charge of $150 per rental day/evening.
  4. Coffee Services are available at extra charge.
  5. Additional charges may be required for events serving a large volume of patrons or involving heavy equipment.

ALL RENTALS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING

  • 50% of rental fee is due at time of booking.
  • 50% remainder balance due 48 hours in advance of rental.
  • Renter must provide copy of Proof of Insurance for at least $1 million liability at time of booking.

Frequent Renter Discounts are available.

EVENT CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation of an event by a customer after a contract has been signed will be subject to the following fees and forfeiture of deposits on account:

  1. More than 60 Calendar days notice: No fees
  2. Less than 60 calendar days notice: 25% of the rental fee
  3. Less than 30 calendar days notice: 50% of the rental fee
