Discovering Your Voice! Vocal Fundamentals for the Young Artist 

Developing a strong foundation of technique early will put you on the road to vocal success. You will leave class with a new song that we workshop and coach and a variety of exercises to strengthen your voice for the future! Led by highly sought-after vocal instructor, Sammy Linkowski.

 

Land the Lead: Beginning Audition Technique

What do we do in an audition? This class will give you the beginning know-how on all things auditioning for musical theater! Learn to pick the right songs and how to succeed in a cold read! Whether that is for school or the professional world, you will get the tools you need to nail your next audition! You will leave with a song you can sing in an audition as well as a self-tape recording of that song to use and submit as part of a performance reel! 

 

Jazz Hands! Beginning Musical Theater Dance 

Students will be introduced to different dance styles ranging from ballet technique as a foundation, to musical theatre stylings,  in order to prepare you for any upcoming auditions! This is a choreography focused class. 

 

IMPROV: “What’s My Line?!” Creating Character 

Ever wonder how actors create HUGE characters that are totally different from themselves? And how are performers able to come up with lines without a script?! In this class, we will have so much fun learning how to improvise scenes, going over the basic structure of improv comedy performance. Also, we will be creating characters based on your own imagination and using them in improvised scenes. By the end of this class, you will learn to be completely in the moment in any performance!

Professional Musical Theatre Audition Technique

In this class, you will learn to perfect your auditioning skills for musical theater! We will focus on performing your best 16 bar audition, building a resume, as well as learning cold read techniques. We will also record a self-tape of your best work, ready to submit on Actors Access. Special industry professionals will guest instruct and/or offer feedback, including but not limited to, award-winning Casting Director Michael Donovan, Broadway and Television Producer/Showrunner, Jonathan Tessero, and Broadway, Tony-Nominated producer and Producing Artistic Director of the Colony Theatre, Heather Provost, and more!

 

Land the Lead! Advanced Vocals for the Singing Actor  

Whether you sing in musicals or other arenas, you must know how to act your songs. This class, led by highly sought-after vocal instructor, Sammy Linkowski, will give you the tools to tell the story you want to tell, through singing and acting onstage! You will learn what it takes to create an excellent solo singing performance. By doing this, we will grow and discover new aspects in your voice that will surprise you! You will leave with at least 2 new songs in your repertoire, excellent strength exercises, warm-ups, and a ton of new vocal knowledge, not to mention a stronger voice. 

 

IMPROV: “What’s my Line!?” Advanced Improv for Teens  

As an actor, performer, or comedian, improv is extremely important for making great choices and getting in touch with your comedic instincts! We will learn to improvise characters and situations, as well as improvise scenes in long and short form. Everything from the fundamentals of improv, game theory, object work, and advanced scene construction. 

 

Strike a Pose! Musical Theatre Dance 

Learn to pick up choreography quickly at  an audition. Tap, jazz, ballet, and musical theater technique. This class is about picking up choreography quickly and some basic technique! Shine at your next dance call. With a special Broadway/TV industry guest, Michelle Elkin, to give a special choreography workshop!
